- Iraq: Sunday, November 11 - 2012 at 01:06
Lukoil, Russia's second largest crude producer, has said it will study an offer from Exxon regarding Iraq's West Qurna-1 oilfield, which the US major wants to leave, Reuters has reported. The company, which is already developing West Qurna-2, said that West Qurna-1 is "too big for it to swallow." ExxonMobil has informed the Iraqi government it wants to pull out of a $50bn oil project in southern Iraq. "We received an offer from Exxon. We will likely study this possibility. But we haven't make any decision today," said Andrei Kuzyayev, head of Lukoil foreign operations.
