The Saudi Arabian Mining Company (Ma'aden) will participate as diamond sponsor in the activities of the Saudi International SMEs Forum, which will be held in Riyadh on 28-29 May, 2013, under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Finance, Dr. Ibrahim Al-Assaf.
"Ma'aden will be participating in this event in its capacity as one the leading companies in finding investment opportunities for SMEs, following our adoption of a concept based on giving priority to projects located within the scope of its operations and which will create economically mobility in the communities in which it operates," said Ma'aden spokesperson.
Ma'aden, whose diverse mining investments include gold, aluminum, phosphate and various industrial minerals, grants opportunities for SMEs that have the capability of meeting the needs of the company. Aiming at creating hundreds of career opportunities, Ma'aden specifies that its contractors and suppliers employ an agreed level of Saudis according to the type of activity and the availability of a suitable Saudi workforce.
Moving steadily ahead in its ambition to become one of the ten largest mining companies in the world, Ma'aden plans to make further investments in the coming years to maintain and add to the successes the company has already achieved.
Ma'aden currently owns five gold mines along with two integrated projects that begin with mining and end up as a finished product, one of which is phosphate and the other aluminum. In addition, the company is currently working on the establishment of Waad Al Shamal Mineral Industrial City, which contains a large complex of phosphates. Ma'aden also plans to raise its gold production capacity by investing in new sites in the kingdom's central region.
