Mansoor Photography Award declares details of Emirati Coasts competition 2013

Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansoor Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Mansoor Bin Mohammed Photography Award has declared yesterday in a press conference the details of the fourth edition of its annual competition "Emirati Coasts" 2013, held at Mina Al Salam Hotel in Dubai.
Following the conference, a seminar was held for the photographers where they were informed on subscription instructions for this year in addition to an awareness lecture by Juma bin Thaleth a member of the Emirates Diving Association, where he shared the photographers his experience in the field of diving and his knowledge of the UAE coast.
The Mansour Bin Mohammad Photography competition is a gesture of initiatives of H.H Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed Al Maktoum who supports professional and amateur photographers in the UAE.
The Award also present incentive awards and photography courses and workshops and tours for Emiratis and residents photographers in the UAE, in order to urge them to continue to participate annually and ensure their progress in this area.
The competition is divided into two categories, major and sub and each one specifies certain value of prizes.
The major section "Emirati coasts" focus on documenting the UAE coast and all aspects of marine life in the UAE in its various forms of wildlife or social life or manifestations and symbols. And will offer cash prizes for the top three winners are as follows: The winner of the first position will get 70 thousand dirhams and the second winner 50 thousand and the third winner will get 30 thousand.
The Sub category- includes four general sections, which deals with various topics within the UAE, including: the nature of the UAE, architecture, movement and action, and portrait photography. This part has identified three winners as follows: 20 thousand for the first winner, 15 thousand for the second winner, and 10 thousand for the third winner.
A new category has been added this year "Their Angle", which targets children between 8 -16 years, and aim to encourage talented people in this category to share the world what they see in their lens. This prepares the next generation and develops their potential to be professional photographers.
There is no specific theme for this category; the field is open for participants to send a variety of images from their creations. This category has identified three awarded winners, 15 thousand for the first winner, 10 thousand for the second winner, and 5 thousand for the third winner.
The award has attracted a number of sponsors and supporters for this season, and such as Dubai Maritime City, Madinat Jumeirah, Ahmed Siddiqui & Sons, "DxBrand". And sub sponsor Grand Stores "Nikon". The main supporter of the award is Dubai Culture and Arts Authority. And media the partners are the Arabian Radio Network and Zabeel studio.
As for the jury, its members are personalities that have vast experience in this area such as Omar Al Zaabi from Abu Dhabi International Association of Photography, Said Jmauh of the Arab Union of Photographers.
New joiners this season are Mozah Falasi Emirati photographer award-winning and, finally, Nasser Nasrallah board member of the Association of the Emirates Fine Arts.
