Martin Cramer joins Sheraton Abu Dhabi Hotel and Resort as General Manager

Mr. Martin Cramer has been appointed as new General Manager for the five-star flagship hotel Sheraton Abu Dhabi Hotel and Resort by Starwood Hotels and Resorts. Mr. Cramer will take over from former General Manager Thomas van Opstal who was in charge of the hotel from 2009 onwards.

Prior to this role, Mr. Cramer held the position of General Manager at the Sheraton Muscat Hotel in Oman.

The German-Argentinian national, born and raised in South America, joined Starwood Hotels & Resorts after his hotel management studies at the Sheraton Frankfurt, Germany.

After an assignment at the Sheraton Munich Hotel & Towers, he moved to the Sheraton Abu Dhabi Resort & Towers as Front Office and Director of Sales & Marketing.

Mr. Cramer continued his career as General Manager at Sheraton Hotels in South Africa and Oman before recently returning to the UAE.

Having spent many happy and important years of my life in the city, I am impressed by the development and the promising future of the emirate and I am looking forward to work in this dynamic environment, especially in this flagship hotel of Starwood Hotels & Resort which has always been close to my heart. I have always had special emotions towards Abu Dhabi, as both my sons were born here," said Martin Cramer.
