Massive cyber-attack on countries in Middle East discovered

Russian security firm Kaspersky Labs has said it has uncovered a complex, targeted cyber-attack that collected private data from countries in the Middle East, BBC has reported. Among the countries affected by the attack are Iran, Israel, Sudan, Syria, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia and Egypt, the firm told the news service. The Flame malware, which the firm believes to be state-sponsored, has been operating since August 2010, Kaspersky said. The malware is "one of the most complex threats ever discovered," it noted.
