'Mawaqif' introduces credit card payments

The Department of Transport (DoT) in Abu Dhabi announced today the introduction of 'Mawaqif' credit card payment options such as Visa and MasterCard at over 2,000 payment machines.
As a result of the new multiple payment methods, motorists can now use their credit cards to pay Mawaqif.
They can now insert their credit cards in the machines and choose the tariff time.
The new credit card facility is one of several payment methods introduced by 'Mawaqif', including prepaid cards, mobile fees payment (SMS) and coins.
Parking management services will apply from 8 AM to 12 PM, Saturdays to Thursdays, at a rate of Dhs3 per hour for Premium Parking (identified by turquoise and white curbstones) with a maximum stay of 4 hours, and Dhs2 per hour or Dhs15 per day for Standard Parking (identified by turquoise and black curbstones).
