McIlroy signs endorsement deal with Nike

Rory McIlroy, the world's top golfer, has signed a new endorsement deal with Nike, just days after his five-year sponsorship deal with Dubai's Jumeirah Group ended. "I chose Nike for a number of reasons," said McIlroy. "It's a company and a brand that really resonates with me. It's young. It's athletic. It's innovative. They are committed to being the best as am I." No details of the Nike deal have been revealed but the initial contract is believed to be worth up to $25m a year and could run for a decade.
