MEA eyeing Cyprus Airlines assets
- Lebanon: Sunday, April 21 - 2013 at 05:48
Lebanon's Middle East Airlines (MEA) is in talks with Cyprus Airways to acquire the company's assets, with the results of these negotiations to become clear by the end of May, The Daily Star has reported, citing an MEA source. "The details of these talks are highly confidential because both parties signed an agreement not to disclose any details about the progress of these negotiations," the source told the daily. This is not the first time MEA has held talks with Cyprus Airways, but industry experts say the deep economic crisis in the island country has compelled the Cypriot airline to restart the negotiations. The Cypriot government controls 93.67% of Cyrus Airways.
