Memac Ogilvy Public Relations, the Middle East & North Africa division of leading global communications firm Memac Ogilvy & Mather, announced the appointment of Ema Linaker to head the company's regional Consumer & Social practice. As regional director, Consumer and Social, for Memac Ogilvy PR's MENA region, she will provide strategic leadership for consumer clients across the organization's regional network.
"This appointment marks our commitment to a future where social communications drives consumer behavior," said Saada Hammad, Memac Ogilvy PR's Group PR Director. "Ms Linaker brings a wealth of experience across a wide range of communications disciplines, from social media advocacy and content creation to stakeholder engagement, issues-led campaigns, and the alignment of internal communications with brand repositioning programs. Her international background will benefit both our clients and the regional PR industry as a whole."
She joins Memac Ogilvy after two years of operating her own social media-focused marketing and communications agency, Bounce Communications. Bounce was established to help companies of all sizes create effective communications strategies - internal and external, online and offline - that work efficiently and smoothly.
Before launching Bounce, Ms Linaker created and led leading antivirus company AVG's social media strategy and built integrated digital, marketing and communications programs, including the company's highly successful Digital Diaries campaign. She joined AVG from Google, where she led corporate communications and public affairs in Emerging Markets, a division which covered 17 countries, five time zones and 23 different languages. Ms Linaker began her career at Weber Shandwick, Nelson Bostock, and Kaizo after graduating with honors from Leeds University with a BA in English and an elective in Law.
Ms Linaker wills together counsel and lead the regional Consumer Marketing Practice to develop integrated and ground-breaking campaigns for existing and future clients. In addition, she will drive creative consumer communications initiatives across Memac Ogilvy PR's MENA operations, including client service, financial oversight, and personnel management.
