Methaq net losses narrows, shares slip

The Abu Dhabi market measure ADXGI declined 0.40% to 2,681.33 points Sunday, as merger candidates Aldar Properties and Sorouh Real Estate fell both 1.55% to Dhs1.25. Islamic insurance company Methaq Takaful closed 1.80% lower at Dhs1.08. Earlier in the day, Methaq said its net loss in the first nine months amounted to Dhs5.66m, down from Dhs18.1m. The net surplu from Takaful operations for the period reached Dhs5.65m compared to a net deficit of Dhs4.04m for the same period last year.
