Methodist International secures SR2bn contract for medical city in Jeddah

Saudi Arabia's Prince Sultan Cultural Centre (PSCC) in Jeddah has signed a SR2bn agreement with Methodist International, a subsidiary of The Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas, to provide services for the development and operations of a new medical city as part of the PSCC, Saudi Gazette has reported. The medical city will be built on an area covering two million square metres near the new King Abdullah Sports City in north Jeddah. The complex will include a general hospital, several specialised hospitals and medical centres, wellness and extended care facilities and a school of health sciences. Upon completion of the project, Methodist International will enter into a ten-year management agreement to manage and operate four of the medical facilities planned as part of the overall project including the general teaching hospital, bone and joint hospital, diabetes, lipids and hypertension centre, and wellness and ambulatory surgical centre.
