Mexican Ambassador to UAE assures attendance of Mexican President at World Energy Forum 2012

As part of preparations to receive delegations that will participate in World Energy Forum (WEF) 2012, HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Vice Chairman of the Supreme Council of Energy for Dubai (SCE) and Vice Chairman of the WEF 2012 Higher Organizing Committee, met with HE Francisco Alonso Escobar, Ambassador of Mexico to the UAE.
Al Tayer welcomed Escobar and briefed him about the World Energy Forum 2012 that will be hosted by Dubai from 22—24 October at Dubai World Trade Centre.
The two sides discussed the participation of Felipe Calderón, President of the United Mexican States, who will lead a high-level delegation of five ministers to WEF 2012, which will be held under the theme "Forum For World Leaders".
"WEF 2012 will bring together several heads of state, premiers, ministers, business leaders of leading companies, policymakers and experts in the field of energy and sustainability from all over the world," said Al Tayer.
"Discussions will focus on key issues that influence the sector of energy and sustainable development in the world, including energy policies, energy intellectual leadership, traditional and renewable energy, oil and gas, coal, nuclear energy, energy and sustainable development, water and urban development, public health, energy security, justice, energy and water, woman's role in sustainable development, the role of technology and innovation in energy, and financing energy projects," added Al Tayer.
The Mexican Ambassador to the UAE stated his nation's interest in renewable energy products and its efforts to enhance collaboration between both nations, especially through the participation of a high-level delegation headed by Felipe Calderon, the Mexican President, in the WEF 2012 which will take place on 22—24 October.
Escobar stressed the fact that both countries play a leading role in achieving sustainability at world level inviting Mexican corporations to attend the World Energy Forum.
At the end of the meeting, the Mexican Ambassador thanked Al Tayer for his hospitality, the briefing on the Supreme Council of Energy and its operations and projects, as well as the briefing on the WEF and the invitation extended to the Mexican president.
