Microsoft to stop Windows XP support in 2014

Microsoft has announced it is to stop delivering security updates for Windows XP on April 8, 2014, PC World has reported. "You should take action to move off of Windows XP," Microsoft said. "After April 8, 2014, there will be no new security updates, non-security hotfixes, free or paid assisted support options, or online technical content updates." Most XP support for regular consumers ended in 2009, although the company continued to release security updates.
