Mideast, Africa PC shipments fell 0.6% in Q4 2012

IDC has said the PC market in the Middle East and Africa region fell by 0.6% year-on-year during the final quarter of 2012, due to the ongoing shift towards mobility in both the consumer and commercial segments, Emirates 24-7 has reported. With a total of 5.3 million units shipped into the region during the quarter, desktop shipments slowed 3.7% year-on-year to two million units, while portable PC shipments climbed 1.3% to reach 3.3 million units, IDC said.
