Mideast hotels reported 3.8% rise in occupancy in March

STR Global has said the Middle East and Africa has reported positive performance results in March with a 3.8% year-on-year rise in occupancy rates to 67.1%. The region reported a 5.4% increase in average daily rate to $179.57 and a 9.5% jump in revenue per available room (RevPAR) to $120.52. The Jordanian capital, Amman achieved the largest ADR increase, rising 12.7% to $166.44, followed by Dubai with an 11.5% increase to $294. Muscat rose the highest rise in occupancy with 18% to 83.1%, followed by Doha with a 13.2% increase to 70.2%. Beirut saw the largest decrease in ADR and RevPAR falling 21.4% and 34.9% to $151.76 and $79.89, respectively.
