H.E the Minister opens 9th Milipol Qatar Exhibition in Doha

Under the auspices of the Heir Apparent H.H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Minister of State for Interior Affairs of Qatar H.E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani inaugurated the 9th international exhibition of internal state security 'Milipol Qatar 2012' today (Monday 8th October 2012) morning at Doha Exhibition Centre.
After the inauguration ceremony, H.E the Minister and the guests of the State of Qatar and the visitors took a tour of various pavilions of the exhibition including the pavilions of the USA, France, Germany, Check Republic, Brazil, Jordan and the U.A.E. They also visited the pavilions of the Ministry of Interior, Internal Security Force and several local and international companies out of 265 companies from 38 countries participating in the exhibition. During the tour, H.E. the Minister and the guests listened to the explanations about the products exhibited in the pavilions.
Talking to the media, H.E Sheikh bAbdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani expressed his pleasure in organizing the Milipol Qatar exhibition for ninth time in Qatar.
H.E the Minister of State for Interior Affairs, in a statement to the media after the inauguration ceremony, stressed that this edition of the exhibition is witnessing great improvement in terms of the area of the expo and the exhibited equipments and products and also in the terms of participating countries and companies.
Answering a question from the media on broadcasting one of the Arabic channels some documents related with Villaggio fire, H.E. the Minister said that all information related with this fire were announced on its time and with complete transparency. But we were really surprised by broadcasting these documents and the concerned party never communicated with us in regard of publishing these documents, he added.
H.E. the Minister clarified that the details of Villaggio fire issue were announced transparently in the press conference held in this regard. In addition to this, the investigation committee also announced its report. The fire was not resulted from any act of sabotage, but it was caused by electric short circuit, as found out by the investigation team.
H.E the Minister said that new equipments and technologies are displayed in this exhibition and many new deals will be signed during the exhibition. He added that the Interior Ministry has benefited greatly from previous sessions of the Milipol Qatar as it came through all modern means of technology in the field of internal security.
The Ministry is exhibiting many new services for the public in this exhibition and it will be announced during the exhibition, he added.
HE the Minister noted that this edition of Milipol Qatar has 1500 sq.m reserved area more than the previous one. As well, number of companies increased from 220 to 265 and the countries from 35 to 38. He also stressed that Milipol will continue to be held alternatively every year between France and Qatar.
"The Ministry is continuing its work as per its strategic plan and here we appreciate all the support provided by HH Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani, the Emir and HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Heir Apparent thus helping us to make things better" he said commenting on the future projects and plans of the Ministry.
