Works Minister inspects Bahrain National Stadium

During the visit, the Minister toured the stadium and inspected the maintenance and revamp works being implemented by the Ministry; comprising the stadium roof replacement tender, the replacement and installing of new spectator and VIP seats tender, the stadium lighting tender and painting of lighting towers, the new field tender, the new toilets and the new canteens tender, all of which are to contribute to preparing the stadium for the upcoming event.

The Minister reiterated the Ministry of Works' keenness to collaborate and coordinate with the General Organization for Youth & Sports to implement and deliver similar projects on due date and thus enhance the Kingdom's profile and capacity to host different important sports events.

The Minister also inspected the VIP and spectator parking lot paving works, in addition to the new roads and parking spaces being implemented; highlighting the capacity of the surrounding roads to accommodate traffic during the championship.

The present revamp works are expected to hugely add to the stadium's capacity to host similar important sports events in the future. Works also include increasing parking spaces to 1300 new parking spaces, improving current entrance and exit points and opening a new exit point on Muharraq Avenue.
