Works Minister inspects Bahrain National Stadium

HE the Minister of Works Essam bin Abdulla Khalaf visited Bahrain National Stadium Revamp Project, which is to host the 21st Gulf Cup Soccer Championship (Khaleeji 21) in January 2013.
The Minister reiterated the Ministry of Works' keenness to collaborate and coordinate with the General Organization for Youth & Sports to implement and deliver similar projects on due date and thus enhance the Kingdom's profile and capacity to host different important sports events.
The Minister also inspected the VIP and spectator parking lot paving works, in addition to the new roads and parking spaces being implemented; highlighting the capacity of the surrounding roads to accommodate traffic during the championship.
The present revamp works are expected to hugely add to the stadium's capacity to host similar important sports events in the future. Works also include increasing parking spaces to 1300 new parking spaces, improving current entrance and exit points and opening a new exit point on Muharraq Avenue.
