- PRESS RELEASE
MoW's Sanitary Engineering Operation and Maintenance Director Ebrahim Al Hawaj revealed that the Ministry managed to achieve 41.6% progress in the preventive maintenance works for sewerage sub-stations and rainwater drainage stations.
The BD1.5m project commenced in March 2012 and is expected to complete in March 2014.
The project comprises preventive electrical and mechanical maintenance works and repair works to sewerage sub-stations and rainwater drainage stations. Works are being implemented by 5 contractors.
"The project puts in place a preventive maintenance program for all sewerage sub-stations and rainwater drainage stations in Bahrain, to be implemented by contractors selected and accredited by the Ministry of Works," said Al Hawaj.
"Such maintenance works ensure a high level of operating efficiency at all sewerage sub-stations and rainwater drainage stations and also maintain sewerage network physical assets. Areas in Bahrain have been divided into 5 operational locations. Each contractor carries out planned preventive maintenance works at the area for which he is responsible, in addition to carrying out maintenance works for sudden and unexpected malfunctions," explained Al Hawaj.
