Works Ministry and Central Municipal Council inspect Avenue 5 revamp project

MoW's Roads Assistant Undersecretary Huda Fakhro, accompanied by members from the Central Municipal Council, inspected Avenue 5 Revamp Project in Blocks 810 & 812 in Isa Town; extending from Doha Avenue in the east to Masqat Avenue Roundabout in the west.

During the visit, the team highlighted the difficulties presently facing the project, which are indicated by a number of violations from houses along the avenue. The issue is to be solved through coordination with the Ministry of Municipalities & Urban Planning.

The project comprises the revamp of Avenue 5 at a length of 810m with two lanes on each direction. The intersections located amongst the inside roads will be organized by the construction of two roundabouts aiming to provide safety for road users. Works also include providing parking spaces on the sides of the avenue, protecting the existing services, implementing ground channels for present and future use, implementing rainwater drainage network, paving, asphalting, signage and lighting works.

The BD554,717 project was awarded to Al Taweel Contracting Establishment.
