Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs provides opportunity for government staff to attend FNC sessions

The programme, in cooperation with General Secretariat of Federal National Council, was organized as part of the Ministry's continuous efforts to enhance awareness about the country's political culture among all social categories, especially government employees.

The Ministry's initiative achieved 89.89% attendance of government employees in the sessions during the first half of 2012.

"These visits, organized by the Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs, for local and federal government staff complemented the Ministry's plans and activities to spread awareness about the political and parliamentary culture among all the categories of the community, according to the leadership's vision to create citizens who are capable of participating in the decision-making process," said H.E. Tariq Lootah, Director General of the MSFNCA.

H.E. said the initiative received active support from government entities, enabling the employees to attend the session.

The Political Department at the MSFNCA coordinated and organized the attendance of the employees at the FNC's sessions, in association with the General Secretariat of Federal National Councils, briefing them on the mission, tasks and performance of the Council, as well as highlighting the interaction of the Council with the government.

This FNC visit programme is one of the initiatives launched by the Ministry to raise awareness about the political culture among all the segments of the society. It started implementing such initiatives in 2008 in cooperation with a number of Federal entities, followed by a group of local entities in Abu Dhabi. In 2012, the initiative was enhanced to include the participation of 58 local entities from Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah; resulting in the addition of 42 new entities to the initiative's data base, which currently includes 80 local and federal entities.
