Works Ministry: road 3445 revamp project 90% complete

MoW's Roads Projects and Maintenance Director Raed Al Salah revealed that the Ministry has reached 90% completion in Road 3445 Revamp Project, and also the construction of a parking lot in Block 734 in A'Ali.

Al Salah explained, "The BD264,886 project is being implemented by Al Tadamon Excavation and comprises the reconstruction of Roads 3444 and 3445, and the reconstruction of the road leading to A'Ali Primary-Intermediate School for Boys; the part located between Avenue 38 and Road 3456, in addition to constructing a service road, a parking lot and pedestrian pavements in Road 3445."

According to Al Salah, the Ministry has coordinated with the Electricity & Water Authority from the start of the project to develop a programme to transfer and divert the electricity poles carrying the overhead cables conflicting with the road and therefore preventing the contractor from completing the rest of the works.

Most works are now complete, and a programme is now in place to transfer electricity to the new network, remove the poles, complete the remaining road works and put into effect changes proposed by the Municipal Council.
