Set to run from 14-17 November at Dubai World Trade Centre, INDEX 2009 has a brand new focus, with high-end design being key.
This new direction for the show has seen a fresh look and feel and focuses on innovation, inspiration and creativity with some 1,000 exhibitors from 47 countries, and 26 National Pavilions taking part. Tens of thousands of visitors are expected to attend the show across the four days.
INDEX 2009 is showcasing some of the industry's leading products and designs from high profile companies from across the world - including Alpha Crystal Lighting, Villeroy & Boch, Longhi, Rexite, Porada, Andreu World and Colleccion Alexandra. In addition, a brand new collaboration of some of the most prestigious and well-known Italian design brands will also be launched at INDEX, under the brand banner 'Disegno'.
New features at the exhibition include a programme of Design Talks which will take place on the show floor. High profile speakers include Victoria Redshaw of Scarlet Opus, Chuck Wood, managing director of the Rockwell Group, Johannes C.F. Holtzhauzen, CEO Waitrose MENA, and Michael Kent, founding partner of Kinnersley Kent Design team.
Other exciting debut features at INDEX include Daniel Holguin and Victoria Simes' jewellery 4 architecture, a student design competition taking place live each day on the show floor; and the first ever Contemporary Majlis Competition with four leading UAE-based interior designers set to showcase their vision of the majlis of the future.
Speaking about INDEX, Bernard Walsh, Managing Director of dmg World Media Dubai, the organisers of INDEX, said:
"INDEX has come a long way over the past 19 years, and we are confident that visitors this year will see a big difference, with the focus very much on high end design. We have an impressive line-up of features, and a VIP programme which is designed to put doing business at the heart of the show."
Index 2009 is open from 11.00am each day to professionals and trade visitors. There will be an exclusive consumer evening on Monday 16 November, from 16.00 - 21.00, where consumers will be able to buy products that will not appear in the shops for two years or so.
