Mobily's Q1 income up 11%
- Saudi Arabia: Sunday, April 21 - 2013 at 05:58
Saudi Arabia's second-biggest telecoms operator, Etihad Etisalat (Mobily) has said higher data revenues have pushed its first-quarter net profit by 11% to SR1.34bn, up from SR1.207bn in the prior-year period, Reuters has reported. Mobily, an affiliate of Etisalat, said its revenue for the three months to March 31 climbed to SR5.63bn, compared with SR5.01bn compared with the quarter a year earlier. "This stems from the growth in sales of smart phones and the increase in data revenues, which accounted for 30% of turnover for the period," the company said.
