Modon showcases projects and investment opportunities at Giant Projects In Saudi Arabia Summit

MODON participated in the "Giant Projects in Saudi Arabia Summit," organized by MEED Investment, which was held recently in the city of Riyadh, in the presence of a large number of officials interested in the construction sector in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf region.

The conference "Giant Projects in Saudi Arabia Summit" aimed at familiarizing participants with the largest market for projects in the Middle East and North Africa. According to MEED forecasts, the contracts worth more than $80bn in the Kingdom will be awarded during the year 2013 AD. This figure represents an increase of almost 36% than it was in 2011, and 10% compared with the projects witnessed during 2012.

For his part, Engineer Abdullah bin Fahd Al-Fassam, Director of Studies and Planning in "MODON" referred to the most important existing projects and future plans for expansion in the industrial cities across the Kingdom, which would increase the participation of the industrial sector in the total GDP as stipulated in the national strategy for the industry.

Eng. Al-Fassam invited businessmen and investors to take advantage of the opportunity of ready-built model factories, which MODON is providing as an investment option to attract more investments and encourage the Saudi youth to be ready to work in the industrial sector.

He pointed out that "MODON" had recently begun work on ready-built model factory project in order to reduce the cost of industrial projects.

Within the context of his speech during his keynote address to the conference, Eng. Al-Fassam said that developed land will reach up to 160 million square meters by 2015, indicating that MODON currently has 110 million square meters of land ready for investment, spread in 29 industrial cities, in addition to the planning and design of five new industrial cities, which are Salwa Industrial City, Jazan and Rabigh industrial cities in addition to Al-Ahsa 2nd. Industrial city, which includes factories equipped for women's work, to be attractive to women workers.

The conference "Giant Saudi Arabia Projects Summit" focused on the development of major projects in the Kingdom, which is considered as the largest construction sector in the region, and will focus on the study of the most important sectors that drive the development activity in the infrastructure projects for the transport sector, such as (roads and railways and aviation). Also social infrastructure projects (such as education and health care) and utilities infrastructure projects, such as (energy, water, desalination and renewable and waste-care projects).
