H.E. Mohamad Bin Ahmad Al-Qamzi delivers opening address at ITU Telecom World 2012

In the presence of High Highness Sheikh Maktoum Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, and His Excellency Dr. Hamadoun I. Touré, Secretary-General of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), H.E. Mohamad Bin Ahmad Al-Qamzi, Chairman of the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) Board of Directors, delivered the opening address at the ITU Telecom World 2012, taking place at Dubai's World Trade Center from 14 -18 October.

During the speech, H.E. Al-Qamzi welcomed the UAE's guests and highlighted the leading role and growing status that the country is enjoying in the global telecom map, alluding to the achievement of the UAE in this field.

"The ICT sector has today become of vital importance; it helps people live better lives, and it helps nations prosper," added H.E. Al-Qamzi.

The UAE is represented by the TRA, as well Etisalat and Du, at the country's pavilion at the ITU Telecom World 2012, where they will display the latest technologies and services the ICT sector in the UAE has to offer.
