MoM lauds KR for Omanisation initiatives

The Ministry of Manpower has awarded a certificate to Khimji International Pizza Hut and Khimji Ramdas Shipping in recognition of efforts at employing national manpower and adherence to Oman's labour laws.
Mansoor emphasized how KR takes measured steps to induct Omani staff into the organization.
"Every business manager is required to induct Omani staff at appropriate levels each year. At the corporate level, we focus on training Omani nationals for first time employment in the group as well as induct qualified and experienced staff laterally into the organisaton at various levels," he said.
Having always prided themselves on being a 'People Power company', KR has implemented a chain of initiatives towards harnessing local talent. Among these is the Ahdier Sadeeq scheme, which encourages employees to refer their friends as potential candidates for Omani reserved positions in the organization.
KR also uses IT Intranet platform as an effective tool to update and educate its employees on the current events of the company. Its KRoogle intranet (Derived from the Google + KR combination) communicates employment related activities and referral schemes to reach a wide base of prospective talent who can take assignments within KR.
The processes employed by KR to achieve higher levels of Omanization include:
1)Introduction of Referral Schemes such as Ahdier Sadeeq Scheme and walk in interviews to encourage and induct Omani manpower at different levels.
2)Providing attractive benefits and career opportunities to retain staff.
3)Adopting structured orientation, training and coaching programmes.
4)Providing internal assessment, training and development, which has helped many of our National staff o grow at all levels including Supervisory/Management.
