MoU signed between IDA International and ITA

The Information Technology Authority (ITA) signed a second Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today with IDA International Pte. Ltd., Republic of Singapore. The MoU was signed by Dr. Salim Sultan Al Ruzaiqi, Chief Executive Officer of ITA and Mr. Seah Chin Siong, Chief Executive Officer of IDA International.

The MoU aims to strengthen the bilateral relationship between the two countries and to promote exchanges regarding the use of ICT by the government and private sector.

This will further enhance and advance trade, investment, business and technology partnerships and collaborations between Oman and Singapore ICT industries. This MoU will be in effect for three years.

The scope of the renewed MoU includes driving the use of ICT in Government as well as key sectors including healthcare, education and trade. Other initiatives in discussion includes the development of an action plan to drive eTransformation throughout the Sultanate of Oman; developing and implementing a strategy to create a pro-business environment leveraging the use of ICT; planning and implementing the use of technologies relating to social media so as to enhance citizen's engagement with the government; and, further accelerating technology innovation as part of the development of the local ICT industry.
