Muscat airport over 50% completed

Oman's transport and communications minister, Dr Ahmed al Futaisi, has announced that construction works on the country's new airports are progressing on schedule, with Muscat International Airport and Salalah Airport 52% and 50% completed, respectively, Oman Daily Observer has reported. Muscat International Airport's new runway, the building of the Public Authority for Civil Aviation, the air traffic control tower and the air traffic management complex are scheduled to be completed by the end of 2013, said al Futaisi. Concrete works at the new Salalah Airport have also been completed, including the passengers terminal and air traffic control tower, he said, noting that the new runway at Salalah Airport is expected to be completed by mid-2013.
