- PRESS RELEASE
The National Committee to Combat Human Trafficking organized a workshop on the preparation of the National Report and Arab Report on Combatting Human Trafficking in line with its effort to implement its strategy in tackling the global phenomenon of human trafficking.
"Human trafficking is a national issue and a major concern for the UAE leadership, which makes tremendous efforts to protect the society from such cross-border crimes. The UAE has made great strides in preparing these reports and presented comprehensive data and analyses about combating human trafficking during the last five years," added Dr Al Ghafli.
The workshop was conducted to strengthen the role of the UAE institutions in improving and developing compilation of reports. It also addressed the Arab Report, initiated by the Arab League, as an effective tool to describe efforts of the regional countries in combatting human trafficking. The effort is meant to provide evidence and counter international reports that claim that Arab efforts in combating human trafficking are lacking.
The workshop sessions highlighted many topics related to the national and Arab reports on combatting human trafficking and was followed by an open discussion involving all the attendees.
