Oman's Muzn Islamic Banking, part of the National Bank of Oman (NBO), has said it has become the first Shari'ah-compliant bank in the country to be registered at the housing ministry, and also the first Islamic lender to register a property with the ministry under the new Shari'ah-compliant regulations, Oman Daily Observer has reported. The move has enabled the bank to "close and seal the very first Ijara home financing deal in the sultanate," said NBO's deputy CEO, Ahmed al Musalmi.
