Al Habtoor Group buys business jet
- Al Habtoor Group has purchased an Embraer Lineage 1000 aircraft which will be managed by Abu Dhabi-based Royal Jet, a luxury flight services company. The Embraer Lineage 1000 is an ultra large business jet designed to seat up to 19 passengers. The aircraft has a range of 4,200 nautical miles, enough to fly directly from the UAE to London and can fly at 41,000 feet, according to a statement.

LCCs adopt 'hybrid' services
- Many low-cost carriers in the Middle East are adopting a 'hybrid' system of services to become more competitive, reported Khaleej Times. Hybrid carriers introduce three or more full-service characteristics such as international routes, global distribution system, code share agreements, connecting flights, multiple fares all the time, and advanced ticketing procedures. Up to 59% of 123 self-nominated LCCs worldwide have either evolved into full-service airlines or were part of an emerging breed of hybrid carriers, which blend low-cost carrier traits with that of full service carriers, according to a report by Sabre.

Air India to launch Kuwait routes
- Low cost carrier Air India Express will launch a range of routes to the subcontinent from Kuwait. The first service, from Calicut via Cochin, will arrive in Kuwait on 14 July. The carrier will also operate a twice-weekly route to Mangalore.

Air Arabia starts early check-in
- Air Arabia has launched an early check-in procedure for all of its passengers, which allows them to check-in up to 24 hours before their flight. The dedicated counters and early check-in procedure are available for flights taking off from Sharjah International Airport only.

NAS wins GSA for Jet Airways
- National Aviation Services (NAS) has been appointed as General Sales Agents for Jet Airways Cargo in Kuwait. NAS will represent Jet Airways Cargo in Kuwait, operating from the NAS Cargo Terminal at the Kuwait International Airport and will also provide sales and service to its cargo customers.

Emirates flies to Guangzhou
- Emirates has launched its six flights a week to Guangzhou, China's third major air hub and leading manufacturing centre. It is also Emirates' fourth destination in China. The airline's weekly frequency to China has increased to 48 flights. Guangzhou's main export items include electrical goods such as televisions and refrigerators, as well as consumer products.
