Emirates A380 plus big Airbus order
'The A380 flight was exciting, but I was struck by the onboard experience', HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum told the VIP audience at a special ceremony in Hamburg, as Emirates Airlines received their first Airbus A380. The Chairman of Emirates also announced another big order, 60 more aircraft, from the European manufacturer.

Cityscape sparks speculation frenzy
Abu Dhabi office rents have witnessed significant increases, with prices climbing on average 27% since April 2007. According to the Better Homes' Commercial Review Quarterly Update, Cityscape Abu Dhabi sparked a 'speculative buying frenzy', but developers are now trying to stop properties being flipped many times over before they have even been completed. The report said the shortfall in office space in the capital was highlighted by the launch of the AL Dana development in the Al Raha Beach area, which went for Dhs4,400 per square foot.

Dubai rental increases soar
Despite recent reports that the Dubai rental market is reaching a plateau, prices are continuing to rise across the board as demand in the city far outstrips supply. The continuing influx of new arrivals, estimated at 400,000 per year, combined with delays in project handovers, means that landlords and developers can still make very healthy returns.

Emirates A380 in pictures
Emirates Airlines has taken possession of the group's very first Airbus A380. The superjumbo flew out from the factory in Hamburg, Germany and touched down in its new hub, Dubai, last night. AME Info's Phil Blizzard was aboard the delivery flight, interviewing Airbus and Emirates executives and sampling the products on offer.
