Sorouh earmarked as solid investment
Sorouh Real Estate has been placed second in a survey of investment prospects in Abu Dhabi (behind rival Aldar) in a recent set of investment reports on the MENA real estate sector conducted by Morgan Stanley Research Europe. But the news comes after a period of strong growth by Sorouh, who in July revealed a net profit growth of 75% in its 2008 first half earnings. The company has also logged a 285% rise in stock value in 2007, a 113% rise in the last 12 months, a number of project launches and promising off-plan sales.

Emaar launches Mushrif Heights
Emaar Properties has unveiled an eco-friendly initiative located near Al Awir and is in close proximity to Mushrif Park. Mushrif Heights, an integrated community focused on sustainable development features will be built around green hills and spread over 44 million sqft. Dubai Lagoon investors seek refund
Some investors in Dubai Lagoon have had their request for a refund turned down in spite of construction work being frozen since May this year, The National has reported. In a note sent to an investor, developer Schon Properties said that refund is granted only for those who invested earlier than 2006. The company has blamed soaring cost of cement and steel as well as the planned motorway through the Dubai Investment Park as Dubai Roads and Transport Authority froze all developments in the area.
