Dubai property prices 'set to fall'
- A report by investment bank Morgan Stanley, quoted in the National newspaper, has warned that prices in Dubai are set to fall by as much as 10% by 2010 as new properties come online. The bank adds that the abrupt change in price growth could spill over into other major Middle Eastern economies.

SkyGardens contract signed
- Plus Properties has signed a deal with Taahud General Contracting to build the SkyGardens residential tower on Reem Island, in Abu Dhabi. The contract is valued at Dhs400m. Enabling work on the project has already begun and construction is due to begin within the next few months.

UAE school start date set
- Schools in the UAE will open on 31 August as previously planned, despite a campaign by some teachers and parents to push the start date back by a month. The Ministry of Education has said that the date will not be affected by Ramadan, according to Gulf News. Teachers and administrative staff will be expected to report to work on 24 August.
