The first phase of this project includes Bosch Service Centres in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait and Qatar. After the first centers in each country are established the expansion of the network with independent workshop partners will follow. The current Bosch Service organization consists of more than 9000 workshops and Bosch intends to double this number in the years to come.

The first Bosch Car Service in the region was opened recently at Mussafah City in Abu Dhabi, in association with Central Motors, the local agent for Bosch range of automotive products. The Abu Dhabi facility is one of the biggest such car service centres in the region, incorporating comprehensive car services and repairs.

"Vehicle manufacturers now use the latest technology with electronic parts accounting for more than 20% of the vehicle's value. Only service centres equipped with sophisticated electronic equipment and know-how can effectively detect the fault in such vehicles. Bosch's automotive software covers more than 30,000 different vehicles of all brands providing comprehensive service information for them. Bosch Car Service centres have also been designed to leverage Bosch's expertise in producing leading edge car parts, backed by intensive research and development going back to several decades," said Jacek Siwinski, General Manager, Bosch Automotive Aftermarket Middle East Office, Dubai.

"Most independent workshops are not well equipped to handle vehicles using sophisticated technology. And even if some of them do have the required expertise, each car manufacturer uses a different system and software package for their vehicles and it is not practically possible for service centres to include all these specifications in their workshops. It is a must for independent workshops to find a strong partner like Bosch to develop themselves and to be able to cope with the technological revolution in vehicle industry or they will be outperformed from the market in the near future."

Bosch Car Service centres offer car owners the facility of having vehicles serviced using highly reliable and genuine spare parts. The range of services, cover everything from engine and bodywork to electrical systems and entertainment systems. In addition, each centre will have a Bosch Diesel Centre to service commercial vehicles.

"Encouraged by the response to our Abu Dhabi Car Service centre, we have devised a detailed strategy to take the concept to other parts of the region in order to cater to markets that lack a comprehensive one-stop solution for car service," said Siwinski. "Our research has indicated that the Middle East market is ready for this type of facility because of the long-term advantages it has over general service centres. Many motorists are aware of the dangers of using low quality spare parts and would not like to compromise on safety. Bosch Car Service Centres are here to offer quality and safety at competitive prices," said Siwinski.

"The Bosch Car Service centres will be staffed by engineers who have undergone rigorous training which will give motorists the assurance that their vehicle is in safe hands," he added. "The engineers will offer valuable advice on good car maintenance and recommend the ideal and cost-effective solution, depending on the brand and category. Bosch Car Service centres are designed to offer a one-stop solution to every aspect of a motorist's servicing needs."

"Bosch has been serving the automobile industry for the past 117 years and has today emerged as the leading automotive parts supplier in over 130 countries. Its products are used by all leading international car manufacturers, including top-range German brands," said Siwinski. "Our products are engineered to guarantee safety and comfort to the motorist. At the same time, Bosch's strong focus on Research and Development helps us to introduce new products and processes that enhance driving pleasure and eliminate risks," he added.
