The DP-450 and DP-500 from KiSS Technology are the first DVD players to support high-quality playback of all versions of DivX video content and deliver tomorrows technology today with professional-quality audio and video to the general public.

The new players give you entertainment at you fingertips with DVD, MPEG-4 and DivX playback, CD/MP3 Playback, CD-RW and DVD-RW, Photo Album and progressive scan and are the first publicly released consumer electronics products to pass the rigorous certification process developed by the DivXNetworks team of video engineers.

The revolutionary KiSS DP-500 is the first network-capable DVD player to offer DivX playback, enabling users to download DivX content from the Internet and then play it directly on a television.

However the really futuristic technology comes in the form of the MPEG-4 and DivX features. 'MPEG-4 and DivX are very well known formats on the Internet. The format gives you a high picture and sound quality, which comes very close to the quality of a DVD movie' says Bertelsen. 'However this is the very first DVD player for home multimedia that has this feature as standard in the UAE'.

'What MPEG 3 previously did for personal audio technology , MPEG-4 promises to create interoperability for video delivered over the Internet and other distribution channels. With MPEG-4 being able to play back on many different devices, from satellite television to wireless devices, means that the MPEG-4 media you create using one company's product will run on another vendor's player' explained Bertelsen. 'MPEG-4 provides an open playing field. As an open, industry standard, anyone can create an MPEG-4 player or encoder that will work with other manufacturer's devices'.
