Every Wednesday, 'Action' subscribers will be able to receive the colorful and animated cartoon strips on their mobiles via a Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) sent directly to their mobiles.
Subscription to Action 'Ziggy' and 'Heathcliff' comics are activated by sending an SMS to 1433 with the message 'sub ziggy' and 'sub heathcliff', respectively. Action subscribers will also find it easy to access the new comic services online by logging on to Wataniya's Funtec website http://www.wataniya.com/funtec.
'The new 'Action' comics cater to a large audience of kids and adults alike, as they illustrate typical everyday life scenarios that people can identify with and laugh along to with their friends and loved ones, 'said Fuad Al Ablani, Assistant GM, Wataniya Telecom. 'The new services are part of Wataniya's on-going roll-out of 'Action' offering and use images and motion pictures to provide a unique and colorful experience to mobile users in the country.'
Action is the Middle East's most diverse range of advanced multimedia and entertainment lifestyle service, based on GPRS and MMS technologies. Subscribers to the service today can send and receive photo messages, access Qu'ranic verses, Blue Mountain Arts e-cards, wallpapers, movie previews, screensavers, cartoons and horoscopes, Arabic comics, compose and send greeting cards and access the Internet as well as their email accounts (from Hotmail to Yahoo and other popular local providers). Action also delivers the CoolZone service, which provides Kuwaiti mobile users weekly updates on the world's latest fashion and lifestyle accessories through their MMS-enabled handsets.
Action is available to all Wataniya post paid and pre-paid 'Xpress' customers with GPRS and MMS featured mobiles, where they will be able to access Action with unlimited service for a promotional price in September.
