The one day event will see the participation of seven local IT companies, who will deliver presentations on IT solutions and products tailored to suit the requirements of a cross-section of Jordanian sectors. In addition, three donor agencies; (JUSBP), (EJADA) and (NAFES) will be delivering presentations on how they can assist and support different sectors in developing and enhancing their businesses. It is expected that over 130 representatives from local companies will attend the event.

"Jordanian IT companies have a very positive reputation around the region for delivering cutting-edge technology products and services to different sectors. However, they need to market themselves harder to the local market. We believe that Jordanian companies who want to grow their business, should really seize the opportunities presented here in Jordan too," said Raed Bilbessi, CEO, int@j. "IT services and solutions developed locally adhere to all of the international standards and successfully compete with global products. During the event, we are promoting local technology companies, who already export their expertise and products internationally, to take full advantage of the business available on their door-step. There are huge benefits for all Jordanian companies from partnering with local technology companies, which will in turn lead to enhancing business productivity."

The one day seminar aims to inform a cross-section of Jordanian companies from sectors such as; financial, industry, health, pharmaceutical services on IT solutions and services that will help improve their business efficiencies. An area has been designated for live solution demonstrations so that participants can fully understand how IT products can play a key role in their business.

"There has been a global trend of applying IT solutions to business processes that Jordanian IT companies can also deploy," said Raed Bilbessi, CEO, int@j. "They are tailored to meet the needs of different industries and specific company requirements. Jordanian companies should take full advantage of the array of products available locally and the value that can be added to their businesses. By adopting these solutions there are many benefits, such as; added convenience, on-going local support for any technical issues and greater cost effective implementation."

The opening key notes will be delivered by representatives from Oracle and Microsoft, followed by presentations by; United Business Applications (UBA), Astrolabe, Tejari-Jordan, Jordan Telecom, Globitel, Sigma Soft and General Computers and Electronics. In addition, three donor agencies; Jordan United States Business Partnership (JUSBP), Euro Jordanian action for the Development of Enterprise (EJADA) and National Fund For Enterprise Support (NAFES) will be putting forward information supporting the seminar's theme of enhancing business with IT.

The Business Automation Seminar is the first meeting in a series held by int@j and is expected to run at least three times a year to promote and support local IT companies within the home market.
