This is the first time that Formula One will visit the Middle East, and FedEx has shipped the show car over for the launch event.
2003 was an exciting year for sponsors of the BMW WilliamsF1 Team as they battled it out for the championship title. In 2004, the team has again set high but realistic targets that will demonstrate a 'whatever it takes' winning attitude and dedication to excellence.
'Formula One is a great platform to promote the FedEx brand and motivate our employees. We have been a sponsor for over six years and share qualities with the sport such as speed, reliability, cutting edge technology and teamwork, ' explained Taarek Hinedi, Managing Director of Operations, FedEx Middle East. 'We are very excited that they have added Bahrain to the circuit. It is yet another example of the strong growth that we are seeing in the region.'
FedEx's role as one of the world's leading drivers of international trade has had a significant impact on businesses since it began operations in the region in 1989. Through its global network, it has brought the world closer to customers in the Gulf. This past summer, FedEx opened nine new FedEx Authorised Ship Centres (FASCs) in Kuwait and Bahrain, following the launch of operations in Iraq.
