The 43-year-old association, which franchisors, franchisees and suppliers, has given its backing to the Dubai expo, which will take place from February 17-19 and which it sees as a 'one-stop franchising experience.'
'The backing of such a renowned association is a major coup for this first time show which is aimed at developing franchise and business opportunities throughout the Middle East,' said Mohammed Falaknaz, Vice Chairman, International Expo-Consults (IEC).
'Major international brands will be at the show looking for market breakthroughs. They are rapidly turning their attention to the Middle East to combat saturation in other markets.'
IEC is organising FME 2004, which will be held at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre, on behalf of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment For Young Business Leaders.
'The exhibitor profile includes master licensees, franchisees, venture capitalists and investment consultants, analysts, consultants as well as associations and trade bodies,' explained Falaknaz.
'The show is likely to give the Middle East's already expanding franchise industry a major shot in the arm and take several brands into the region's major retail league.'
International Franchise Association backs Dubai expo
The US-headquartered International Franchise Association, which boasts several thousand members and represents over 800 brands, has endorsed Franchise Middle East 2004 (FME) - the dedicated trade show for the franchise industry to be held in Dubai in February.
