Dubai Government Excellence Programme nominations are completed

Dubai Government Excellence Programme has announced the completion of the nominations, which has seen a high rate of participation from all government authorities in the various programme categories.

'This year's applications enjoy higher standards relative to previous years,' said Nabil Al Yousuf, General Coordinator of Dubai Government Excellence Programme.

'This reflects the increasing rate of development in the general performances of various departments, authorities and employees in the government sector,' he added.

Al Yousuf pointed out that the evaluation process will start under the supervision of leading Arab experts in quality management and human resources. The evaluation will be extremely professional and objective, as each and every application will be reviewed several times to ensure accuracy and precision.

'Evaluation teams will organise field trips to all government authorities, organisations and departments participating in the programme to interview all the candidates. This would ensure that each nominee is accurately assessed,' Al Yousuf added.

Application Details
Administration Excellence Categories: Applications in the Administration Excellence Categories have reached 175, which includes 19 in Distinguished Government Department Category, 8 in Distinguished e-Department' category, 18 in Distinguished Government Administration Category, 10 in Distinguished Team Category, 9 in Distinguished Management Initiative Category and 10 in Distinguished Technical Project Category.

Employee Excellence Categories: Applications in the Employee Excellence Categories include 19 in Distinguished Government Employee category, 13 in Distinguished Administrative Employee, 10 in Distinguished Financial Employee, 8 in Distinguished Technical/Engineering Employee, 12 in Distinguished Employee in Specialised Jobs Category, 8 in Distinguished Employee in Fieldwork, 15 in Distinguished Female Employee Category and 16 in Distinguished New Employee Category.

'We have seen the Dubai Government Excellence Programme impacting upon the quality of service in Dubai Government over the years - both at employee and departmental levels. Judging by the quality of response we have received this year, we are prepared for a highly competitive judging schedule where we are sure only the tiniest fraction will distinguish between the participants,' Al Yousuf added.

The Dubai Government Excellence Programme aims at achieving a qualitative leap forward in the performance of the government departments. It also aims at developing the government sector and upgrading its performance by way of providing incentives, training and work conditions which are motivating and which encourage a positive attitude and constructive competition within the sector.
