Samsung Electronics, the regional and global leader in digital technology, has launched its new Nano e-HEPA (for electric High Efficiency Particulate Arrest) filtration system-equipped air purifiers, which not only eliminate undesirable odours, but also help protect people from numerous indoor health threats.
'These new air conditioner, vacuum cleaner and market-share-leading microwave oven products, with the addition of cutting-edge air purification technology offers an exciting extension to our home appliance line, said, Mr. Keun S. Yoo, Senior Manager of the Home Appliance division, Samsung Gulf Electronics. 'The use of our technological innovations to strengthen leadership position is a corporate goal, and we feel the new air purification system reiterates our position as a premier company that develops one-of-a-kind household products.'
Samsung Electronics is among the first to apply nano-silver technology to air purification systems. A metal dust filter coated with silver particles just 8 nanometers large (less than 0.1 micron) was proven to kill 99.7% of influenza viruses in tests conducted by the Kitasato research center of environmental sciences in Japan. The bacterial control is even further enhanced by the use of an ultraviolet (UV) lamp.
Another feature of the Samsung Nano e-HEPA system is the unrivalled ability to remove odors (up to 98%). A functional filter, developed with nano-technology, eliminates all noxious volatile organic compound (VOCs) fumes, which come from paint, adhesives and varnishes.
'With the increase in allergens and toxins in the air, people are searching for new ways to increase the quality of air they breathe,' Mr. Yoo added. 'Whether it's a hospital or medical facility wanting to keep air fresh or an underground space or building requiring adequate ventilation, the Nano e-HEPA system air purifier can make a significant difference.'
