AlRashid-Abetong Co. of Saudi Arabia selects iScala Collaborative ERP system to centralize business processes

Global collaborative ERP vendor Scala Business Solutions today announced that Saudi Arabia's biggest building material pre-cast company, AlRashid-Abetong Co. Ltd., with sales of SR190 million in 2003, has selected iScala Collaborative ERP system to streamline its business processes.

This will lead to better integrated business operations spanning manufacturing, warehousing and finance among a host of other functions.

Commenting on AlRashid-Abetong's decision to implement iScala, a senior spokesperson of Scala Middle East said that the total implementation will help the company reduce redundancies in business processes across the board and in turn gain from cost savings through real-time execution of a variety of its activities through an automated workflow.

Mr. Ziad Aqrabawi, Regional Managing Director for Scala Business Solutions Middle East based in the Dubai Internet City (DIC) said: 'We are extremely delighted that AlRashid-Abetong has chosen iScala, which has proven benefits in a manufacturing environment. The signing up of AlRashid-Abetong comes in the backdrop of increased awareness of our enterprise solutions in the Middle East, particularly in Saudi Arabia.'

He said that the iScala implementation has already started and the company has opted for a modular installation starting with the financial and material management processes.

Mr. Samer Shafeek, Sales Manager, and Scala Arabia said: 'Scala has been present in Saudi Arabia for the last four years. We have more than 36 customers in the Kingdom now. The strength of Scala Arabia is the highly qualified technical support team.'

Explaining the reason for selecting iScala and the benefits the company would gain from the implementation, Mr. Mahmoud Judeh, Finance and Administration Manager, AlRashid-Abetong said: 'Our business involves design, manufacturing, delivery and erection of various turnkey projects and by choosing iScala we expect to make a huge difference by tracking cost and profitability of these projects accurately. We expect iScala to ensure easy flow of information among the company's various departments and branches.'

AlRashid-Abetong has three plants in Riyadh and the company is well-known for the introduction of a most modern pre-cast system - Swede Beam System.

Mr. Mohammed Seraj Shaikh - IT In-Charge, AlRashid-Abetong said, 'We chose iScala after careful evaluation of a number of tools from leading ERP vendors. Scala stood ahead of its competitors in local presence, knowledge and excellent local support. Scala also has an impressive list of successful implementations in Middle East, particularly in Saudi Arabia.'

He said the company will scale up the iScala implementation by adding manufacturing and project management processes once the implementation of the current modules is completed.

'We expect both long- and short-term advantages from the implementation of iScala. In the long-term we expect iScala to enhance our market presence by integrating business processes and by providing demand and supply solutions. We also expect that our three factories will be connected by iScala in the near future,' Mr. Judeh said.
