Serco Gulf receives three ISO awards

Serco Gulf a leading Facility Management (FM) company, today announced that it has received three International Standards for Organisation (ISO) awards, becoming the first FM Company in the Gulf region to obtain such accreditation in all three areas.

Serco Gulf was awarded ISO 9001 for quality management, ISO 14001 for environmental management and OHSAS 18001 for occupational health and safety systems.

'We are dedicated to providing best practice in Facilities Management on an international scale. In order to do this, we have implemented an Integrated Management System to ensure the highest levels of Quality, Safety, Health and the Environment to establish and maintain a premium service to our customers,' said Kevin Brennan, General Manager of Serco Gulf.

Serco Gulf was set up in October 2002 as a joint venture company with Istithmar and is located in Jebel Ali Free Zone and Port Rashid. In February 2004, Serco Gulf relocated to new premises within Jebel Ali Free Zone in order to combine its entire operations within one customised facility. This move solidifies Serco Gulf's presence in the Middle East and its partnership with Istithmar.

'Serco Gulf prides itself on operational efficiency and therefore establishing one location for our services was a key milestone in our plan,' remarked Grant Rumbles, Chief Executive of Serco CEME. 'In addition, we view this move as a testament of Serco Gulf's commitment to our regional partner, Istithmar,' added Kevin Brennan.

'Our joint venture represents a key step forward in bringing international best practices to the facilities management sector. Already our clients are experiencing substantial cost savings along with higher service levels,' said Ahmed Butti Ahmed, Chief Executive Officer of Istithmar.
