Announcing the details of the ERP installation in one of the key bottling plants of Pepsi, a spokesperson of Scala said the implementation of the next generation ERP tool, iScala 2.2, will help the company optimize a range of its mission-critical business processes including manufacturing, asset management, financials etc. through automation and Web collaboration.
Mr. Ziad Aqrabawi, Regional Managing Director of the Dubai Internet City-based Scala Business Solutions Middle East said: 'We are excited about the Pepsi win which we consider as a very important milestone in our regional business growth. The deal also gives us enormous mileage in the food and beverage industry where Scala ERP solutions are making headway.'
He said that the adoption of iScala 2.2, widely accepted by an array of enterprises world over spanning many industry sectors for its cutting-edge connectivity and collaboration functions, will help the Pepsi bottler, Ahmad Hamad Al Gosaibi & Bros. National Bottling Co., increase return on investments through cost-efficiency and time-scheduled business processes in line with the company's growth target.
Explaining the reason in selecting iScala 2.2, Mr. Hassan Zatar, Financial Manager, Ahmad Hamad Al Gosaibi & Bros National Bottling Co said: 'Our operations have grown many times ever since we started our business in 1956. We are the leading player in the beverages market in the Eastern region of the Kingdom and have a market share of over 76 percent. It was high time that we deploy IT solutions to streamline our operations across the board for better control as well as to lower costs.'
'We are confident that the implementation of iScala 2.2 will make a positive impact on the company's bottomline since it will reduce costs through better management of time, skills and assets as well as through better production management schedules in line with market realities,' he added.
Commenting on choosing iScala 2.2, Mr. Khalid Shafa, IT Manager of the company said: 'We chose Scala after a detailed scrutiny of a range of ERP solutions available in the market. We found iScala 2.2 to be an open system allowing us to integrate with any other system in other parts of the world. An important criterion for us in selecting Scala was its excellent integration capabilities since the ERP system will have to link a range of business processes seamlessly covering the whole gamut of our operation.''
'Another compelling factor in favour of iScala 2.2 was its lower Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) compared to many of its competitors in the market. Predominantly, the advantage was getting an ERP system which gave us higher Tier 1 functionality at the cost of Tier 2 ERP,' he said.
The Pepsi bottler will implement all the modules of iScala 2.2. The installation will cover Financials which will provide an integrated ledger infrastructure to capture multidimensional financial transactions, Asset Management for single-point information on asset-related data, Warehouse Management for better quality and batch control, Material Management for a tight grip on deliveries, Manufacturing and Productions Control module for planning and scheduling of the production, Service Management, Contract Management and Payroll.
Mr. Moayyad Zaidan, Account Manager of Scala Arabia, Scala's Saudi channel partner company said: 'Significantly, the installation of Scala MPC which is a proven complete manufacturing and production planning system supporting make-to-stock production and make-to-order production controls will also be integrated with other Scala modules and is a flexible tool that supports strategic Just-in-Time (JIT) manufacturing.'
He said the local team of Scala Arabia will support the smooth functioning of the ERP system keeping pace with the changing needs of the company. Scala Arabia has a network of offices in Dammam, Jeddah and Riyadh and has been serving the Kingdom for the last four years.
