MasterCard MENA celebrates successful first year at Dubai Internet City
- United Arab Emirates: Tuesday, December 10 - 2002 at 14:30
- PRESS RELEASE
MasterCard International's Middle East and North Africa (MENA) operations are celebrating a successful first year of operations at Dubai Internet City (DIC), which has proved an ideal setting for the MENA regional offices of this leader in global e-business solutions.
"MasterCard prides itself on delivering value to its member institutions and their cardholders through an aggressive commitment to technology. The move to DIC was a natural extension of this and has proved to be an ideal base for us to offer even better global services to member financial institutions," said Mohamed Belarj, senior vice president and general manager, MasterCard International, Middle East and North Africa.
During the past year, MasterCard has leveraged its DIC offices, located in a building branded with the distinctive MasterCard logo, to provide effective support to several global MasterCard emerging technology solutions, including MasterCard® SecureCodeTM, MasterCard Internet Gateway System (MIGS), and MasterCard Smart Data OnLine.
"We have enjoyed the benefits of working on a campus filled with the world's leading multinational information and technology companies. The advanced, high-speed IT infrastructure provided at DIC gives us the necessary Internet backbone and technological systems to support our team responsible for working with member financial institutions to implement these programs," Belarj added.
"With our MENA offices located in the regional business centre of Dubai, we have been ideally positioned to implement strong marketing initiatives, such as providing localised support to the global MasterCard sponsorship of the 2002 FIFA World CupTM and sponsoring the region's leading summer event, the Dubai Summer Surprises," he added.
