Rolling out in the Gulf, Levant, and North Africa markets over the summer months, this new segment of the VERITAS Partner Program builds on the success of the company's enterprise and government segments and provides Middle East-based partners with the required tools, support, training and products to better meet the specific requirements of regional SMB customers.
'Over the last year, we've witnessed a considerable increase in interest from VERITAS resellers for the company's SMB solutions. This program demonstrates to the Middle East market that VERITAS is as focused on the business needs of its smaller and mid-range customers as it is on enterprise clients, while providing its channel with the necessary sales and marketing tools to grow their share of the mid-range business,' stated Eliot Shepherd, Marketing Director for Tech Data, one of the VERITAS Authorised distributors in the Middle East region.
According to Gartner Research, VERITAS Backup Exec software is the market leader in server backup software used by small to medium-size businesses. Today's announcement further underscores VERITAS' commitment to SMB customers, one of the fastest-growing market segments for VERITAS in the Middle East region.
'Our reseller community continually provides us with pertinent insight into the Middle East's SMB market, and something we hear frequently is that smaller and mid-size businesses have a very straightforward approach to data protection. SMB's want greater peace of mind around three key areas: knowing that all their important data is backed-up fully, that they can recover all this data at any time easily and quickly, and that overall data management is as simple as possible. In order to educate resellers about the new solution track, Spurgeon will meet and prepare the VERITAS Middle East's distributor base over the next two months, followed by a series of regional roadshows in up to twelve locations across the Middle East and North Africa. These events will enable both resellers and end-users to learn firsthand about VERITAS' solutions targeted specifically at the business requirements of the SMB market. Finally, VERITAS Middle East will launch a reseller recruitment drive and incentive scheme in the second half of 2004 to ensure maximum market reach for its SMB offerings.
