Located 300 meters from the cave where Lot and his family sought refuge from the devastation of Sodom and Gomorrah, the museum is a new platform within the coastal area's tourism development plan. 'Lot's Museum' a lavish two storey structure built to look like a shell is set to showcase the history of the amazing topography and unique geological beauty of the area. It is scheduled to be open around April 2005.

Philip Papadopoulos, the General Manager of the Jordan Valley Marriott Resort & Spa said, 'The Jordan Valley already holds a vast wealth of historical and biblical attractions such as the Dead Sea and the Baptism Site. This museum will only add to the many interesting sites that are already available. We are excited about this project because we believe our guests will have a great opportunity to find extensive information about the geological, natural, and archaeological facets of the area.'

Marriott International is represented by three other hotels in Jordan - the 293-room Amman Marriott Hotel and the 100-room Petra Marriott Hotel. In addition, the Aqaba Marriott Hotel & Resort will be opening in the near future.
