LinuxWorld launches at Gitex

Taking into account the increasing interest LINUX and the Open Source movement is generating in the region, CPI, one of the UAE's leading publishing houses and regional partner of IDG, the world's largest IT publisher has launched LinuxWorld Middle East & Africa.

LinuxWorld Middle East & Africa aims to be a tool to educate decision-makers in organisations on the advantages of migrating to and implementing Linux with successful case studies in the region. It will also include interviews and insights from experts in the field of Open Source and Linux, coverage of worldwide Linux news and events, technical and commercial reviews of the latest software and hardware options on Linux and white papers on the latest research and developments.

The magazines reach will cover 65 countries across two continents, with over 150 Linux User Groups [LUGs] and educational institutions actively participating and promoting in its development.

'There is a need for a vehicle to promote debate and to make the business case for Linux, CPI intends to make LinuxWorld Middle East & Africa magazine this vehicle!' commented CPI's Chief Executive Officer Dominic De Sousa. 'Backing from all the major players in the market encouraged us,' he continued.

An online pre-launch subscription drive on www.cpilive.net has already signed up over 3,000 subscribers. The magazine will have a total print run of 10,000 copies distributed through our subscription database, news stands, LUGs, educational institutions and will be available in the highly successful Zinio digital format (www.cpilive.net/zinio). LinuxWorld Middle East & Africa will be a bi-monthly, with six issues in one year.

LinuxWorld Middle East & Africa will also be available from CPI's stand at Gitex, Hall 5, Stand 540 for both copy sales and subscription.
