Malaysia Prime Minister to address Arab Strategy Forum in Dubai
- United Arab Emirates: Monday, November 29 - 2004 at 12:03
- PRESS RELEASE
H.E. Abdulla Badawi, the Prime Minister of Malaysia, will be a key note speaker at this year's Arab Strategy Forum, which will be held in Dubai from the 13th to 15th of December 2004.
The Malaysian Prime Minister will share his insights at the Forum on the subject of human development, and especially on how can the people of a nation become the engines of the country's economic growth and prosperity.
Malaysia is an economy that has emerged onto the world stage. It has weathered the storms of the 1980s ASEAN crisis and - within the Islamic world - is one of most favoured recipient of foreign investments.
This would not have been possible, on the one hand, without the far seeing leadership of the country, which provided the liberalised environment conducive for rapid growth. On the other hand, it also would not have been possible without the people of the Malaysia who provided the skills base and who rose up to the global challenge and professionalism that was demanded of them.
The Malaysian Prime Minister will join a global think tank that will gather in Dubai in December to map out the blueprint for the Middle East and the Arab world. Participants will include Heads of State, public and corporate sector decision-makers, specialists, experts and academics and top officials of global institutions and non-government organisations.
The Arab Strategy Forum will deliberate over issues of policy, governance, transparency, political and economic reform, education, building a knowledge-efficient workforce and regional security amongst other issues critical to the future well being and development of the Arab world and society.
